Announcement from the joint May 2004 meeting:  North Hays County Business Expo

There were 130 people at the Kyle/Buda Area Chambers of Commerce combined lunch meeting May 12 at Texas Disposals Systems.

Dick Schneider, Chairman of the Buda Area Chamber, welcomed everyone.

Tim Delano, Vice President of the Kyle Area Chamber, announced the two chambers' joint venture in presenting the "North Hays County Business Expo" to take place on Thursday, October 7, at the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center on Koehler's Krossing and will accommodate over 70 exhibitor booths.

An After Hours Social will be held that evening at Plum Creek Golf Course.  On Friday, October 8, the two chambers will continue their collaboration by sponsoring the 2004 Golf Classic, also at Plum Creek Golf Course.

Packets of information about the Expo and Golf Classic were available at the meeting.  Response to the Expo has been overwhelming.  We have more sponsors than we had anticipated.

If you are interested in participating in either the Expo or the Golf Classic, please contact the Kyle OR Buda Area Chamber of Commerce as soon as possible.  Reservations for booth space is limited to Chamber members through June 30.  If there is space still available, reservations will open to non-members July 1.

The Expo Theme

Last year the Kyle Area Chamber Business Expo had a train theme, with the slogan "Movin' on Up, Get on Board."  The theme was incorporated in our advertising and in the decor of the booths.  This year we are asking for your ideas for a theme; and the member whose idea is chosen will receive $50 off their booth cost.  A form for you to submit is attached as part of the information packet.  Or, you can simply e-mail me with your ideas.  Just be sure you include your name, phone number and name of your business.
